Vol. 105 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers - Offaly Turbary.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have received a list of applicants for turbary on Derrinlough Bog, near Cloghan, Offaly; if it is proposed to divide this bog among the needy and deserving persons in the immediate vicinity of Cloghan; and if he will state the position, as far as he is aware of it, in regard to the steps taken to divide it.

My information is that the list mentioned by the Deputy was duly received. Subsequent inquiries showed that the bog had been extensively developed by the county council and turbary thereon was available at a reasonable charge for all applicants. The Land Commission accordingly saw no reason to intervene.
