The quantity of boots and shoes for which import licences under the provisions of the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, were issued during the period 1st January, 1947, to 30th June, 1947, was 920,500 pairs. The quantity of such footwear imported during that period was 772,152 pairs.
