Vol. 108 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what regulations, if any, are being made or will be made, by his Department, to secure adequate supplies of milk for the home market.

I have no reason to think that the supplies of milk at present available for home consumption are insufficient for requirements or to anticipate that supplies will not continue to meet the normal demand. If circumstances should cause any exceptional shortage of supplies of liquid milk in the coming winter reserves of dried and condensed milk can be drawn upon.

Will the Minister take precautions to see that there is no shortage rather than to wait for a shortage?

The Minister is always taking precautions.

He is still doing it.
