Vol. 108 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the causes of the delay in carrying out the sewerage scheme at Castlegregory, County Kerry; and if he will indicate what steps he proposes to take to have the work commenced as soon as possible.

I would refer the Deputy to the replies given on 11th February and 1st July last regarding the progress of this scheme. Contract documents were received in the Department on 1st of last month and are being examined. Before approval can be given it will be necessary to discuss certain aspects of the scheme with the local authority, and for that purpose an engineering inspector of the Department will visit Kerry at an early date.

Will the Minister say will the work be done before the general election?

I should say not.

Mr. Morrissey

That means you will never get it.

Obviously, the Deputy has no hope of being able to do anything after the general election.
