Vol. 109 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Whiskey Withdrawals from Distilleries.

asked the Minister for Finance what quantity of whiskey was withdrawn from each distillery in Ireland, in each week, during the months of October and November, 1947, to date, and in the same weeks of October and November, 1946; or the total of all withdrawals for these periods.

The total quantities of whiskey withdrawn from distilleries in Ireland during the period of seven weeks—2nd October-19th November, 1947, and the total quantities withdrawn during the corresponding period of the year 1946 are, respectively, 133,097.6 proof gallons and 153,047.3 proof gallons.

I have given only the total quantities delivered from distilleries in the periods specified as it would be contrary to practice to disclose information regarding individual concerns which had been received for revenue purposes.
