During the financial year ended 31st March, 1948, 563 farmers in County Meath were paid grants to the amount of £7,321 14s. 5d. for work carried out under the farm improvements scheme, but 398 of these grants were in respect of applications made in 1945/46 and 1946/47.
In the 1947/48 season of the scheme, the number of applications received from County Meath was 1,162 and the number approved was 1,113. In respect of the approved cases, 165 grants totalling £2,211 8s. 11d. were paid by 31st March, 1948. The remaining cases are being dealt with in the current financial year.
