asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the supply of water to Oughterard is inadequate in quantity and is subject to all the commonly-known sources of contamination; that this water supply is to be connected with sewers now being laid by the local authority, thereby aggravating the existing danger to health; that the people desire to have a gravity supply made available from Lough Seecon; and, if so, whether he will cause early and earnest attention to be given to this matter.

I have received a complaint from the Oughterard Development Committee in regard to this water supply and am having inquiries made in the matter. No proposals have been furnished to the Department for the provision of the gravity supply referred to by the Deputy.
