asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether the six 3/4 cubic yard excavators ordered by his Department on 20th May, 1948, were in fact ordered from a firm in Ohio directly or through an agency and whether the five of those excavators which were delivered here on 9th June, 1948, came directly from Ohio subsequent to the placing of the order; and, if not, whether he will state the country from which they were shipped.

The order dated 20th May, 1948, was placed with an agent for the delivery ex-works Ohio of six 3/4 cubic yard excavators. The five machines delivered in Dublin on the 9th June were consigned direct from Ohio. I am not aware of the actual date of despatch.
