I move:—
That leave be given by the Dáil to introduce the following Supplementary Estimate for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1949, namely:—Vote No. 65 (External Affairs).
The Vote will be circulated immediately and discussed with the main Vote.
Our agreement to discuss this with the main Vote must be withheld until we have seen it.
It is a Vote for £6,500 odd and is for expenditure connected mainly with staff with regard to the European recovery programme and the opening of a new legation in the Netherlands.
I do not want our agreement to be taken for granted.
