Vol. 112 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accommodation for Dispensary Doctor.

asked the Minister for Health whether he is aware that the dispensary doctor appointed to Balbriggan district has no residence there and, owing to lack of suitable accommodation, his wife and family cannot reside in the locality; and, if so, whether he will ensure that this doctor will be provided with a house at an early date, and also arrange for the erection of a permanent residence for the medical officer appointed to that district.

The answer to the first part of the question is "yes". The provision of a residence for the dispensary medical officer is primarily a matter for the commissioner administering the affairs of the Balrothery Board of Assistance. I am informed that the commissioner is about to acquire a site for the erection of a residence for the medical officer of the dispensary district.
