Vol. 112 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Board of Assistance Employees.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Health if he has received any recommendations from the Commissioners of the Dublin Board of Assistance for the payment of an increase in wages and for the improvement in the conditions of employment of their employees, and if he has yet sanctioned the recommendations.

Proposals were received on 3rd instant from the commissioner administering the affairs of the Dublin Board of Assistance for the grant of an increase in wages to certain employees of the board. These proposals have been examined in the Department and agreed in principle. An early communication in the matter will be addressed to the commissioner. I have not received any general proposals from the commissioner for the improvement of conditions of employment of employees of the board.

Mr. Byrne

Will the Minister kindly make further inquiries into this matter because, over a month ago, I was informed that it was receiving active consideration?
