Vol. 112 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport Inquiry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has indicated to Sir James Milne the desirability, within the terms of reference of his investigation of consulting the various trades unions concerned in the transport industry; and, if not, whether he will do so now.

Owing to the serious position of the transport services, I have asked Sir James Milne to furnish his report as soon as possible.

He has indicated to me that he does not propose to hold public sittings or to take oral evidence, as this would delay his inquiries. He will consider fully any written submissions made to him by the trades unions or other interests concerned.
