Vol. 113 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tourist Board Salaries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the amount paid by the Irish Tourist Board during the last financial year for (a) salaries and wages, and (b) consultants' fees in respect of the board's general activities, and, further, if he will indicate the amount of salaries and wages paid by the board during the same period in respect of the Fáilte Hotels, and also the amount of consultants' fees due and the amount actually paid in respect of such hotels.

In the year ended the 31st March, 1948, the amount of salaries and wages paid by the board in respect of its general activities was £24,968 16s. 10d., and the amount of consultants' fees paid in the same period was £6,866 7s. 4d. Salaries, wages and operation expenses generally in respect of the Fáilte hotels were paid by Fáilte Teoranta, and I am not in a position to give the information sought by the Deputy until I receive the accounts of this company which are at present being audited.
