Vol. 113 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas Telephone Facilities

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the immediate necessity for a public phone in the Tolka estate area of Finglas; and, if so, whether he will have a kiosk erected there.

I regret it will not be possible to provide a telephone kiosk at the Tolka estate for some time.

There are many centres with stronger claims for attention, but when kiosks have been supplied to these places, the claims of the Tolka estate will not be overlooked.

Is the Minister aware that in this particular estate, the Tolka estate area of Finglas, the residents are at least one mile from the nearest public phone, even though the estate is on the boundary of the City of Dublin?

Yes, and as I stated, when the centres with stronger claims have been supplied with kiosks, the area to which the Deputy refers will be given special attention, probably early next year.
