Vol. 114 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Short-Wave Broadcasting Station.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when work is to be resumed on the erection of the short-wave broadcasting station, the construction of which was suspended when the Government took office 12 months ago.

A delegate has been sent to the Short-Wave Broadcasting Conference which is in session at Mexico City endeavouring to draw up a world plan of wavelength allocations for short-wave stations. It is proposed to wait until it is known whether a plan will emerge from that conference and whether it will include wavelengths for the short-wave station here before any further consideration is given to the future of the station.
