asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the number of applicants for grants under the farm improvement scheme received by his Department from farmers resident in County Limerick between April 1st, 1948, and February 1st of this year; (b) the number referred to inspectors for report; (c) the number of schemes approved and the applicants notified thereof, and (d) the total value by way of grant of the schemes for which notification of approval has been given.

As regards (a) and (c) of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given yesterday to Deputy Ó Briain. As regards (b), all applications received were referred to the Department's local officers for report. As to (d), the total amount of the grants covered by the works authorised in County Limerick is, approximately, £5,432.
