Vol. 114 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bog Road.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is in a position to state the cause of the delay in making the bog road at Cloonacat, Gore estate, Glenamaddy, County Galway, for which the tenants signed consents for widening, etc., some 20 months ago.

Improvement work on the bog road in question will come to be done when the Land Commission are completing the resale of the remaining portion of the estate. The road runs through the village extending into the bog and is not in a very bad condition although somewhat narrow. Rearrangement, which will involve further migration, will be necessary before resale can take place, and to carry out improvement works piecemeal would be too costly and might involve duplication.

Will the Minister ask the Land Commission why they asked these people to give permission to carry out certain work over one and a half years ago and have done nothing about it since?
