Vol. 114 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Facilities in Cork Suburban Areas.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the fact that the suburban built up areas of Cork which are outside the administrative area of the Cork Corporation, and not therefore represented on the corporation sub-committee which arranges with his Department the order of priority for erection of telephone kiosks in the city, are urgently in need of public telephone facilities, he will arrange for a special examination of the telephone requirements of these areas with a view to prompt and sympathetic attention being given to their needs.

The telephone needs of the suburban areas referred to will be fully considered and arrangements will be made to consult the district development associations as well as the local authorities in areas outside the county borough before the erection of kiosks in these areas is undertaken.
