asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position in regard to the proposed housing schemes at Abbey-feale, Newcastle West, Pallaskenry, Patrickswell, Kilmallock, Foynes, Adare and Glin.

Mr. Murphy

The position in regard to housing schemes proposed by the Limerick County Council for these towns is as follows:—

Pallaskenry.—Tenders have been invited for the erection of a scheme of 20 houses.

Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West, Patrickswell and Kilmallock.—Lay-out and house plans for schemes involving over 200 houses have been approved by the Department. I understand that the council expect to be in a position to invite tenders in the near future.

Foynes, Adare and Glin.—The proposals of the council for the acquisition of sites to satisfy the housing needs of Foynes, Adare and Glin are awaited. I understand that the council have received offers of sites at Foynes and Glin which are at present being examined by them.
