asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Kerry County Council forwarded amended plans in connection with the proposed Cahirciveen waterworks scheme to his Department on the 5th instant and if he is now in a position to make a definite announcement on the matter.

The amended plans for this scheme were received in the Department on the 4th instant and are being examined. The submission of a bill of quantities and specification for the works is still awaited. A decision on the plans will be communicated to the local authority as soon as possible.
I should like to give notice that with your permission I wish to raise the subject matter of Question No. 5 on the Order Paper of Tuesday, 17th May, on the adjournment to-night.
