Vol. 115 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Masts for Electricity Supply Lines.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that until recently wooden A. masts for 10 K.V., O.H. lines, used by the Electricity Supply Board, were manufactured in Cork satisfactorily and economically, and that this work has now been transferred to Dublin; and, if so, whether he will request the Electricity Supply Board to continue making these masts in Cork for southern schemes so as to save transport costs and to implement his policy of decentralisation.

The Deputy's question refers to a matter of administration for which the Electricity Supply Board is responsible, and in which I feel I should not interfere. I would suggest to the Deputy that he should address his representations to the board, who will be prepared to give them due consideration.
