asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that a telegram handed in at Dublin at 1.55 p.m. on 25th April, 1949, was delivered at Dun Laoghaire at 4.35 and that the explanation from his Department (190/4 12th May, 1949) was that the messenger was dispatched on delivery at 2.35 but had to deliver telegrams at Sandycove, Glenageary, and Sallynoggin, and if he will see to it that the messenger service is so improved as to prevent such serious delays in future.
