The total number of persons (single men without dependents) whose applications for unemployment assistance were disallowed this year up to the 7th July because they refused to accept employment with Bord na Móna and at the Erne hydro-electric scheme is approximately 4,200. No returns have been kept of persons whose applications for unemployment assistance were refused because they declined to accept employment on bog work with private employers or on other works of construction.
