Vol. 118 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the type of dwelling referred to by the Kerry County Council as type A, as amended by the Gibney plan, is suitable to Killorglin and other rural areas; and, if so, whether his Department will sanction construction of dwellings of this type at an early date.

I have approved of a proposal by the Kerry County Council to build 10 cottages in the Killorglin area on the basis of the amended type A plan. Approval has also issued for the erection of a limited number of cottages in the North Kerry area to such of the approved designs as the council may decide to use.

The question of plans for further cottage schemes in the county is at present being considered by the council following consultation with officers of the Department.
