Vol. 118 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the deplorable state of septic tanks in the Blanchardstown district; and whether he will state when proper sewerage will be provided.

I am aware that the existing sanitation arrangements in the Blanchardstown area are unsatisfactory. A sewerage scheme for the Blanchardstown and Castleknock district is in preparation but the carrying out of the scheme cannot be undertaken until the North Dublin regional water supply scheme has been installed. Plans for the latter scheme have now been approved.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the necessity for the provision of sewerage facilities for the ex-servicemens housing scheme at Raheny and the corporation cottages at Collins Avenue, Whitehall; and, if so, whether he can state when it will be possible to connect these houses to the sewerage system.

I am having inquiries made in these cases. Perhaps the Deputy will be so kind as to repeat his question in a week's time.
