My Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of the provision of a new school to replace the existing defective Stradbally Boys' National School and the arrangements for the erection of the new school are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I am unable to say, at present, when work on the new building is likely to commence, but I understand from the commissioners that the preparation of working drawings and specification is almost completed and that they expect to be in a position to invite tenders at an early date.
