All local authorities were requested on the 27th June to prepare a list of works capable of being executed in the current financial year under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949. The proposals of Galway County Council were received on the 20th July and contained 81 works to the value of £52,825. A grant of £45,125 has been allocated in respect of 79 of these works. The remaining two works have been deferred.
