The local office of my Department at Balbriggan serves the town of Balbriggan and the census towns of Donabate, Garristown, Naul, Loughshinny, Lusk, Rush, Skerries and Swords in North County Dublin. Particulars of the number of persons registered as unemployed who reside in the postal district of Balbriggan are not readily available, but the following particulars may meet the Deputy's requirements. The numbers of persons by district electoral division resident in North County Dublin, who were registered at Balbriggan local office on the 12th December, 1949, were as follows:—

Statistical returns showing the number of persons registered at local offices of my Department are complied in respect of Saturday of each week. Information in respect of the 30th November in each of the years mentioned by the Deputy is not, therefore, available. The following particulars relate to the numbers of persons registered at the Balbriggan local office on the 28th November, 1938, which was the last Saturday in that month and on the corresponding dates in 1939, 1948 and 1949: 28th November, 1938, 297; 25th November, 1939, 307; 27th November, 1948, 96; 26th November, 1949, 107.
