asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total amount of Exchequer issues in the year 1948-49 and the estimate for 1949-50 in respect of (a) Central Fund services and (b) supply services.
Written Answers. - Exchequer Issues.
Exchequer issues for the year 1948-49, as shown by the Finance Accounts, amounted to £7,305,337 for Central Fund services and £64,638,094 for supply services.
Estimates of Exchequer issues in the year 1949-50 for Central Fund and supply services are contained in the White Paper on Receipts and Expenditure which was published in connection with the Budget for 1949-50. No later estimates are available. Actual Exchequer issues in the current financial year are given in the statement of Exchequer receipts and issues published weekly in Irish Oifigiúil.

In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the answer to Question No. 48 on the Order Paper to-day, I propose to raise the matter on the adjournment.
It will be considered with all the other questions.
Yesterday I gave notice of my intention to raise the subject matter of question No. 2 on the Order Paper.
That will also be considered in due course.
