asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that the rates of pay and conditions of service of sub-post office clerks are very bad, and whether he will investigate the whole matter with a view to the improvement of pay, hours and conditions of service for these clerks.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sub-Post Office Clerks
The rates of pay and conditions of services of sub-office clerks are fixed by mutual agreement with the sub-postmasters who employ them and, in the nature of things, should not be out of line with those applying in other comparable employments. If, however, the Deputy will give me particulars of any specific cases which seem to require investigation, I will have them looked into.
