Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonsast Power Station.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the price per ton which the Electricity Supply Board proposes to pay to Bord na Móna for turf of 30 per cent. moisture content delivered to Clonsast power station, and whether it will be economically possible for Bord na Móna to make deliveries at such price.

The price at which turf of 30 per cent. moisture is at present being sold to the Electricity Supply Board is 39/6 per ton. It is anticipated that this price will be economic. Under an arrangement between the Electricity Supply Board and Bord na Móna, the price will be reviewed from time to time in the light of the cost of the production of turf.
