Vol. 119 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Information Relating to Political Activities.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that, during the hearing of a case at Holyhead in December, 1949, against Mr. Joseph Nolan, who was charged with disobeying a deportation order, C.I.D. officers were in a position to quote the record of this citizen of Ireland, including facts occurring from 1940 to 1945; whether he will state if this information was supplied from State sources in this country and whether he will give an assurance that in future no information relating to the political activities of an Irish citizen will be divulged to foreign Governments.

I have no information in regard to the prosecution in Holyhead, but I can assure the Deputy that no information regarding this man's political activities was furnished officially to anyone outside the State.
