Vol. 119 No. 9

Dublin Bus Strike.

Before the Order of Business is announced, may I ask the Taoiseach if he is in a position to make any statement to the House with regard to the bus stoppage in the Clontarf-Dollymount area? This matter was raised on the Adjournment on Thursday night last, and all the Deputies representing the area——

The Deputy might have given the Chair notice of his intention to raise this matter.

On Thursday night in the Dáil all the Deputies for the area spoke on this matter and the Minister for Industry and Commerce indicated to the House that the Government were giving the matter their careful attention. Since then the residents of the area have made it very plain to the Deputies concerned that they are losing patience and they are of the opinion that the Government must intervene.

The Deputy is doing more than asking a question.

I am merely indicating to the Taoiseach the purpose of my question.

I have no information that I can usefully give to the House at the moment on this subject.
