Vol. 119 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Santry Dispensary.

asked the Minister for Health whether he is aware of the urgent need for a dispensary at Santry, because of the big increase in the population of the area in recent years, and because the present dispensary in Glasnevin is very inconvenient for Santry residents; and, if so, whether he will consider recommending to the local authority the erection of a new dispensary in the area.

I have not received any complaints of inconvenience suffered by the Santry residents by reason of their having to attend at the dispensary in Glasnevin.

I shall, however, have inquiries made in this matter and I shall ascertain the views of the Dublin Board of Assistance in regard to the improvement of dispensary services in the area.

Is the Minister aware that I have received a number of complaints from this particular area? The people there are a long distance from the dispensary, in Santry and right along that area, and I would be very grateful if the Minister will see that a dispensary, even a temporary structure, is procured in order to facilitate the people.
