Vol. 119 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Kiosk.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to have a public telephone kiosk erected at South Jetties, Cork, as at present there are no telephone facilities available in case of accidents, etc., and whether he will give priority to its erection, in view of the representations already made by the harbour board and by Deputies.

A number of applications for the provision of telephone kiosks in Cork City and suburbs has been received. A survey is at present being carried out with a view to selecting the more urgent cases for attention when conditions in the Cork engineering area permit.

The request for a kiosk at South Jetties will be borne in mind when the selection of sites is being made, but it is understood that there is a number of other places in Cork with stronger claims for consideration.
