Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Proposals for Works (Offaly).

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether any proposal under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, has been submitted by the Offaly County Council for the execution of work on a mill race at Boher, Ballycumber, Offaly, which is at present causing extensive flooding; and, if not, whether he will have the matter brought to the notice of the local authority.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether any proposal under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, has been submitted by the Offaly County Council for the execution of works on a water-course which runs from Tubberday, Killure, Rhode, into the Esker River at Newtown, and which at present floods some 32 holdings; and, if not, whether he will have the matter brought to the notice of the local authority.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 47 and 48 together. No such proposals have been submitted. A copy of the Deputy's questions and of this reply will be sent to Offaly County Council.
