Vol. 120 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Water Supplies.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will indicate when the people of Long Island may expect to get some pump facilities.

The provision of pumps is normally dealt with by sanitary authorities without reference to my Department. I am unable to say what the position is regarding the provision of pump facilities at Long Island but I shall have inquiries made and communicate the results to the Deputy.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state when it is hoped to provide adequate watering facilities for the boats of the fishermen at Cape Clear.

I understand that the question of providing watering facilities for fishermen at Cape Clear is being investigated by the local sanitary authority. I am not in a position to say at this stage when the facilities will actually be provided. The Deputy's previous representations were duly conveyed to the county council. I will make further inquiries from the local authority and communicate the result to the Deputy.
