Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Contributions.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (i) the total amount paid under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts, 1932 to 1946, by way of contributions to annual charges of local authorities for acquiring, building and reconstructing dwellinghouses, including grants for such purposes over each of the periods 1st April, 1933, to 31st March, 1940 (inclusive), and 1st April, 1940, to 31st March, 1948 (inclusive); (ii) the average total amount paid per year in such contributions over each of the aforesaid periods; and (iii) whether any part of the total amount paid in either period was regarded as capital expenditure proper to be defrayed out of borrowed moneys; and, if so, if he will state the total amount borrowed for this purpose over each period.

The information asked for is as follows:—

(i) The total amount paid under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts, 1932 to 1946 by way of contributions to annual charges of local authorities for acquiring, building and reconstructing dwellinghouses, including grants for such purposes in each of the following periods was:—

(ii) The average total amount paid per year in such contributions in these periods was:—
