asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether any provision has been made by the Kerry County Council in this year's estimates, or whether an application has been made under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, for the erection of a bridge at Coomaspeera (road No. 502) and for the replacement of the old wooden bridges at Glenmore, Waterville and Cockow, The Valley, by up-to-date concrete bridges.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Bridges.
Proposals put forward by the Kerry County Council under the Local Authorities (Works) Act for the erection of concrete bridges at Coomaspeera and Glenmore, where questions of flooding were involved, have been approved. It is for the county council to decide whether to proceed with either or both of these works under the grant allocations being made available.
In regard to the other bridge mentioned by the Deputy, I understand that no provision has been made by the council in this year's road estimates for its replacement. I have no information as to whether this case could be dealt with under the Local Authorities (Works) Act. No proposal in relation thereto has been submitted.
