Vol. 121 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Kerry Drainage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is now in a position to indicate the approximate date on which it is proposed to commence operations on the Brick and Cashen drainage schemes in North Kerry.

I regret I am not yet in a position to say when works will commence on the drainage of the Feale catchment. As the Deputy is aware, a sum of £20,000 has been provided in the current Estimates for the work. The draft design of the scheme has been completed, but, owing to the peculiar tidal conditions at the outfall, I am having a special examination made by an expert on this type of problem to ensure that no factor has been overlooked in our calculations.
