asked the Taoiseach if he will state the index number of the weighted average hourly rates of wages in industrial occupations in 11 principal towns at the beginning of 1950 (base 1931=100).

The index number to base 1931=100 of the weighted average hourly rates of wages in industrial occupations in 11 principal towns at beginning of 1950 is provisionally estimated at 182.7.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the average weekly earnings and hours worked in transportable goods industries and in all industries in October, 1948, in respect of (a) males under 18 years; (b) males 18 years and over; (c) females under 18 years; (d) females 18 years and over, and (e) all workers.

Provisional index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district at the beginning of 1950 (base January, 1939=100) were: (a) industrial group, 170.6; (b) services, 181.1; (c) transport, 173.4; (d) all groups, 173.2.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the estimated amount of total salaries and wages, including Army pay and allowances but excluding agricultural wages, in the years 1947, 1948 and 1949 corresponding to Item 5 of Table 1 of the White Paper on National Income and Expenditure.
