Vol. 121 No. 16

Questions— Oral Answers. - County Dublin Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has reconsidered his Department's objection to the Portrane and Ballymastone housing sites at Donabate, County Dublin, and, if so, with what result; and, further, what steps will be taken to provide water and sewerage in the Donabate area.

As indicated in reply to a question on 14th March last, the proposal to acquire the Ballymastone site was very carefully considered by my Department. No new facts have so far been submitted which would justify a revision of the decision already conveyed to the Dublin County Council, but I am examining points raised by a recent deputation. In regard to the Portrane site the council were requested to furnish certain particulars in regard to the proposed scheme and a decision in regard to the acquisition of that site will issue on receipt of the required particulars.

A proposal has been received from Dublin County Council for the employment of a consulting engineer to prepare water and sewerage schemes for the Donabate-Corballis area. It is hoped to have a decision conveyed shortly to the council in the matter.
