Vol. 122 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Description of Butter.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that a certain brand of butter made and sold in the Republic of Ireland is packed in a wrapper on which it is stated that it is Irish Free State butter, and whether he will issue instructions to have the use of this misleading wrapper discontinued.

The answer to the first part of the question is "no". If the Deputy will be good enough to let me have a copy of the wrapper to which he refers, I shall have the matter investigated immediately.

I have the wrapper here and can let the Minister have it whenever he likes. It is being sold in the majority of houses in the City of Dublin.

The Deputy may rest assured that the moment I get my hands upon it, no time will be lost in dealing with it.

The sooner you start on it, the better.

I notice that it is a decorative document.

Complete with photograph of cow, as you will see.
