When will the Second Stage be taken?
Social Welfare (Insurance) Bill, 1950—First Stage.
Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled "an Act to establish an extended system of social insurance, providing for pecuniary payments by way of disability benefit, unemployment benefit, maternity benefit, widow's pension, orphan's allowance, retirement pension and death grant and for treatment benefit, to repeal or amend the existing enactments relating to national health insurance, unemployment insurance and widows' and orphans' contributory pensions and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid". (Minister for Social Welfare).
On the first day on which the Dáil meets after the Summer Recess.
We must fix some date. As the Minister is aware, the Bill need not be taken on that day.
The 18th October then.
Second Stage ordered for 18th October.
When will the Bill be circulated?
During the recess.
