Vol. 122 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Tipperary Cottage.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that over a year ago repair work on the county council cottage occupied by Mr. Thomas Ryan of Parkroe, Cappawhite, County Tipperary, ceased. although the repairs had not been finished; that the rain comes through the roof of the bedroom occupied by Mr. Ryan, who is suffering from tuberculosis; that repeated requests to the Tipperary S.R. County Council to have the work completed have been without avail; and whether he will take the matter up with the county council with a view to having the work completed without further delay.

I have been informed by the Tipperary (S.R.) County Council that if the repairs to the cottage referred to by the Deputy are not completed by the responsible contractor in the immediate future, the council will itself take steps to have the work finished by direct labour.
