Could the Minister give the House any idea of what this Bill is intended to cover?
He cannot do that, unless the Deputy objects.
The main thing it does is to raise the maximum rate which a local authority can give. There are about 11 committees at present which will not be able to make their proper provision for next year until there is a little more latitude in the amount of money they can get from the local authorities. The Bill will be circulated at the end of the week or the beginning of next week.
