A tender for the development of the housing site and erection of the houses has been accepted by the Dublin County Council, but before work is commenced the council are having the nature and stability of the sub-soil examined as a precaution against the settlement or loss of bearing capacity that might result from excavations for sewers, etc., in sandy ground. It is, however, expected that work on the scheme can be commenced in the very near future.
