With your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, I propose to include the dates of establishment of each consultative council and the number and dates of meetings held in a written reply.
Following is the reply:—
A number of consultative councils have been set up under the Health Act, 1947, but none bears the title which the Deputy has mentioned. The following are the councils which have been set up:—
(1)Medical Education Committee.
Date of Appointment. 4th November, 1947.
Dates of Meetings. 1st December, 1947; 15th January, 1948; 26th February, 1948; 22nd April, 1948; 24th June, 1948; 14th October, 1948.
Number of Meetings. 6. There were also frequent meetings of 3 sub-committees which were appointed.
(2)Committee of Inquiry into the setting up of a Post-Graduate Medical School at St. Kevin's Hospital, Dublin, for medical officers of local authorities.
Date of Appointment. 4th November, 1947.
Date of Meetings. 4th December, 1947; 30th December, 1947; 22nd January, 1948; 12th February, 1948; 19th February, 1948; 4th March, 1948; 19th March, 1948; 22nd April, 1948; 20th May, 1948; 2 meetings were held in June to consider the report.
