Vol. 123 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Monaghan Mineral Survey.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will consider the desirability of having a survey made of the mineral resources of County Monaghan, and, in particular, of the lead deposits there with a view to having them developed.

I am satisfied from the information available regarding the mineral resources of County Monaghan, including the lead deposits in that area, that a further survey is not necessary, and I am prepared to make available the geological information in respect of these lead deposits to any person or persons possessing the necessary financial and technical qualifications for their development.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary indicate when he will make available the report received from the expert loaned by E.C.A. for the purpose of carrying out such a survey?

In due time.

After the next war.
