Vol. 123 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Jelly Crystals.

Mr. Brady

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the estimated total quantity of sugar exported to England during the past 12 months in the form of jelly crystals and of other such foods.

I regret to state that the particulars sought by the Deputy are not available.

Mr. Brady

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say whether he will be able to get the other figures subsequently?

I am afraid that in this case it is not possible, because it is not practicable to segregate them.

Mr. Brady

Even the one item mentioned, which is the particular one?

I will endeavour to have it looked into, but I do not think it is possible to ascertain the precise details because of the fact that it is part of a number of manufactured commodities.

Mr. Brady

There are only two principal commodities in that. Even the approximate figure would be quite all right.
